I Imagine The Philosophy 101 Students Instead Of Law Students Will Handle This

You know, our nation is divided.  There are people who think Democrats are stupid.  There are people who think Republicans are stupid.  There's people like me who think they're both stupid.

So what better way to start the healing than to present some people that everyone can agree are truly stupid?  Yes, it's time for the Junior Matlock Club.  Now give me the oath!

"Now, it is from little misdemeanors that major felonies grow.  And it is my duty -- it is ANYBODY'S duty -- to stop them before they get too far.  NOW THE LAW MUST BE UPHELD!"

Here's a question that'll keep you up at night.  We've all heard of victimless crimes and how they aren't so bad.  But where do you draw the line?  The police in Joliet, IL are facing that question after the January 18 arrest of three people who decided to stick up a grocery store with no one inside it.

Sanjuan F. Reyes, 22, Jose M. Torres, 17, and a 16-year-old Joliet boy were outside the Supermercado Viva Mexico at 600 E. Jackson St.  They put on bandanas and ski masks.  The 16 year old was sent in with an air pistol while the other two stayed outside as lookouts.  The 16 year old went in and came out, saying there was no one in the store.  They decided to wait around until some customers actually went inside the store.  However, a neighbor had spotted three people in ski masks and bandanas, one of which had a gun shaped weapon, close to the store and decided to buzz the fuzz.  By the time some customers went in the store and the trio entered it, the police showed up.  There was a short footchase and everyone got pinched.  Not only were they booked for attempted robbery, but Reyes was being held for three outstanding warrants.

Sometimes, you're better off just giving up....
