"Do Not Run. We Are Your Friends."

Asus has been wobbly on the whole Linux thing for a while now.  You will recall my bitching about linking their EEE PC site to a Windoze propaganda page.

Now, the latest insult.

At the electronics show going on now, Asus was set to reveal the Snapdragon, an EEE PC powered by Google's Android software.  Well, just before the show started, Asus pulled it.  They attended a press conference with Intel on one side and an M$ rep on the other.  He apologized for not showing the Snapdragon and then moved on.

Folks, I know you should never say never, but I don't think I'll ever buy an Asus product again.  They are clearly beholden to corporate masters.  Fun fact:  this weekend, while spinning through Best Buy, I saw an EEE with Windows, 16GB drive, for $230.  That's cheaper than the Linux models.

If we want to break M$' stranglehold on the market, we will have to do it without Asus.  And thanks to Android, we just might.
