Let Me Tell You Why That's Bullshit

Babble-on 5

J. Michael Straczynski, who wrote one of the Before Watchmen series and basically said the deal Alan Moore signed is an indicator of Moore's stupidity instead of the ethics of DC, is reviving his comic company imprint with Image.

You know...so no one can do to his characters what he did to Moore's.

Yeah, I know, I have a massive hate-on for Straczynski.  How can you blame me when his press release has little tidbits like this:

The center of the storm is what comes out of my keyboard.

You're shitting me, right?

It’s all about creating IP.

Don't you just love when an artist is passionate about their work?

Bottom line -- Straczynski's work is a looooooooong way away from what he did on Babylon 5.  Hell, his work on Captain Power And The Soldiers Of The Future (hey, I liked that show!) was better than his recent stuff.  It's like what killed prog rock -- he's so busy showing how smart and clever he is, he's forgetting he needs to entertain the audience as well.

Oh, wait.  He's not entertaining the audience.  He's just creating IP.  Which means he just needs to start ideas, he doesn't need to finish them.

Perfect.  Fit.
