Funny thing is there's an anti-depressant that does have a 'weight-loss' side effect.

I wonder if the weight loss side effect is physiological or psychological. Sticking to a diet is hard and boring. Since keeping your spirits up is one of the keys to sticking to a diet, I sometimes wonder if anti-depressants would work better than fat burners etc.

Hmm...I wonder if I could get a government grant to research that?

It's Welbutrine, the one that I've been on since late 2008. It works as an appetite suppressant, and because of that, people with anorexia are discouraged from using it.

I do know that it's been approved for major depressive order, as an aid to stop smoking, and they're researching it to see if they can label it as a weight loss drug.

I know that I've lost 40 lbs since being on it, did gain 15 back, but still 25 lbs isn't so bad.

That's a coincidence: One of the main characters in my new book is named Chance. Probably not the same guy. ;-)

Not unless he's a six foot tall anthropomorphic walrus. If he is, that would REALLY be a coincidence! ;-)
