Like the mosquito said when he flew over the nudist colony -- I knew what I was supposed to do, I just didn't know where to start.

As longtime readers know, one of my biggest points of hatred about humanity is willful ignorance.  Let me clarify what I mean by that.  I'm not talking about simple human limitations.  Case in point:  Mornblade and I have radically different views on supporting Bill Brady for governor of Illinois.  His stances on abortion and creationism taught as science offend me.  Mornblade has correctly pointed out that he can't just make laws, it has to go through the state leg.  Despite using similar logic in the Presidential races, I can't bring myself to do it this time.  In the early days of Desert Storm, I told a friend of mine I supported it.  She is a huge anti-war person and asked me why.  I laid out my thoughts.  She nodded, said she understood my point (and appreciated that I wasn't just looking for a war), but she couldn't bring herself to agree with me.  I have long said, you take any principle of yours and follow the line of logic far enough, sooner or later, you become a hypocrite.  That's not willful ignorance, that simply human limitation, and there is nothing wrong with it.

Willful ignorance is when people feel they don't even have to acknowledge these contradictions in personal actions and philosophy.  Case in point:  the recent global climate summit, where everybody flew in by private jet.  If jets are bad for the ozone layer and climate, why are you flying there?  Sting and his wife have defended their private jets, saying that they are necessary to save the Earth, how else are they supposed to make appearances at worldwide events and raise money and awareness?  Superskinny supermodels who say being a size 0 is unhealthy and girls shouldn't do it while they stay skinny and Photoshop their flaws away.  PETA's willful ignorance could fill an encyclopedia, with the most recent entry being getting Justin Bieber to do a "adopt a pet, don't buy" campaign.  Uh, if all animals should be liberated and pets are wrong, why are you encouraging pet ownership?  (As for Justin Beiber telling me what to do, he can kiss my Polish ass.  Call me when your bed no longer has rails, then I might listen.)  It's people who love to talk about what others shouldn't do, but it's completely okay when they do it.  THAT is willful ignorance.

When it comes to willful ignorance, the accelerated labs for its synthesis are religion and politics.  How accelerated?  Try zero to stupid in just under an hour.  Esquire is reporting that September 25 was the day Homocon 2010 was held in New York City.  Homocon is presented by GOProud, a bunch of Republican gays.  (I know, not all R's hate gays, being a single-issue voter is bad, but something about a group of people supporting an organization that has publicly declared them mentally ill, bound for Hell, and the scourge of modern America just stupifies me.)  PayPal (the world's largest unregulated bank) founder Peter Thiel hosted the event in his NYC apartment.  $2,500 a head to get in.  And guess who was the guest of honor?

Ann Coulter.

Yes, the epic right wing troll, who once called Al Gore a "total fag" and said Bill Clinton exhibited "some level of latent homosexuality" gave a special speech at a fundraiser hosted by and for gays.

(I guaran-fucking-tee you, if she didn't look hot, no one would pay the slightest attention to her.)

"The right wing Judy Garland?!?"  Are you fucking shitting me?!?

So, what did this asshole have to say?  Some choice quotes:

"Gays are the molecular opposites of blacks.  Everybody likes the gays moving in next door."  (I should note that some of the attendees were black gays.)

Same-sex marriage is "not a civil right" because "you're not black" and the equal protection clause of the US Constitution "is about just the blacks."

The ideal for parents is "one mother, one father."

"Not only can gays be conservative, you pretty much have to be."  They are the "highest income demographic" and "gays are too stylish to work for the federal government."

"Once scientists find the gay gene, guess who's getting aborted?"

The gathering featured a wide demographic, from middle aged millionaires to twenty-somethings in T-shirts declaring "Freedom is fabulous" listened.

And they laughed!

And they hugged her!

And they begged for pictures with her!

And they thanked her for "saying what needs to be said" and "for everything you do."

I quote Cheese -- "I wish I had a baseball bat the size of Rhode Island so I could beat the shit out of this stupid-ass planet!"  And I thought it was bad when Elton John agreed to play at Rush Limbaugh's recent wedding....

Believe me, Brady would not be my first choice. But, given the options, he has the highest probability of beating Quinn, and doesn't appear to be connected to the Chicago Machine ("appear" being the operative word).

I may be middle-ground-leaning-conservative, but I've never liked Coulter, and she isn't that good looking either. As shown in her comments, she is the kind of person that fuels the separation and lack of cooperation of political parties. Meanwhile, though I am glad to see that homosexual Republicans are being open about their lifestyle and political views, but they should have run the bitch out the moment she started to speak. What were they thinking?

At the Limbaugh wedding, did Sir Elton sing, "You won't let your son go down on me"? - Thank you, I'm here all week.

I didn't mean to imply something wrong with your thought process. I was more interested in showing how I will selectively apply my logic. Strictly speaking, I should be right there with you, but for some reason, I just can't. You have validated your feelings, I simply have not. I was showing my shortcomings, not yours.

I'm praying it was an irony troll.

As for your last line, you almost cost me a keyboard. I nearly spit my tea out.
