NOW How Much Would You Pay?

A friend of mine reading my rants (obviously, not a coder) asked me about the M$ selling XP below cost bit.  How much were they charging?

$7 per copy.

You know, I thought it was illegal to sell something below cost just to destroy market competition.

So, it took $7 per license to give M$ a presence in the netbook market.  And yet, 24% of all netbooks ship out with Linux.  And Android is waiting around the corner.
