Do You Know Who I Think I Was?

Check the mail, and the latest issue of Video Game Trader is in there.

Well, that's a bit of a relief.  I thought they had closed down.  Emails from me to the editor were never responded to.  Also, a surprise.  The web site hasn't been updated since October 4th, and there is no mention of the new issue there yet.  The last issue was the June issue and it's supposed to be released quarterly.  So this is a couple of months late.  Still, better late than never.

Well, maybe not.

This issue is a little on the thin side.  I had been told that my very nice Valis retrospective article would be running in it.  Not there.  There's a homebrew review by a new guy, but only one this time.  Nothing by me.  This makes only the second issue since I started there that I haven't appeared in.

I sent off another email to the editor.  Haven't heard back from him.

I'm getting the feeling I've been sacked.

Which is a damned shame.  I really enjoyed writing for the mag, and had a lot of fun with the articles and the review copies and....

Maybe this will change.  Maybe the editor is just busy.  Maybe there's another issue down the way, and I'll see my name in there again.  But somehow, there's this atmosphere of "burning off the stockpile" to the whole thing.  I hope the mag continues, but I'm starting to have my doubts.  Stll, it was a good run, going from #4 as the resident indie game reviewer, being there when it went to print with #6, and being there the rest of the way.  Let's hope the other stuff I did still pops up there.

Oh, that's too bad. Something similar happened to me once, and it makes you wish people would just be more up front about things.
