My family is full of die hard Chicago Bears fans, with the lone hold out being me. Remember, basketball fan (when the Bulls quit on Skiles and management fired him instead of them, that pretty much knifed my basketball enthusiasm).
So, this Sunday, the Bears play the Seattle Seahawks, a team that is in the playoffs and STILL has a losing record. Everyone is saying the Bears will win. The Seahawks beat the Bears earlier this season. They say it's because the Bears hadn't gelled yet as a team. No. The Bears, for some unknown reason, quit running the ball and started passing it.
Why do I bring this up?
Jay Cutler is telling the news he hopes the Seahawks dare him to pass and that he expects to throw 60 times in the game. That sound you hear is Seattle getting the champagne ready.
Even if that's a ruse, the Bears are the worst at protecting the quarterback. How many times did Cutler get sacked? They can't stop the blitz, and they suck against stunts. And those of you thinking I'm looking at the start of the season, please bring up the game against Green Bay two weeks ago and get back to me.
Bears fans have always been insufferable to me. One way or another, this weekend is going to suck.
