Sexual Exploitation, Or Target Marketing? You Decide

Recently, a company began selling aprons with superhero costume motifs.  Keep in mind, I don't consider this EXACTLY gender based.  I cook and use an apron myself.  Still, given how contentious gender roles are, there is at the very least a questionable implication here.

Well, if you worry giving your girlfriend an apron with a superhero motif might be insulting, here's an alternative.  Costume Craze has begun making corsets with superhero motifs.

Why do I get the feeling that, if it weren't for the squick factor, we'd have seen Evangelion corsets first?

I know superheroines in comics have always had a sexual component to them.  But really, isn't this taking it just a little too far?

Any day now, I expect to find a link on the Internet to a superhero-themed bondage harness.  You KNOW someone's making them.
