Business As Usual

When the Arizona Massacre happened last month, everyone was saying we need to stop using violent metaphors when discussing politics because it's what triggered this and we need to respect each other and all the other Pollyanna stuff.  Sarah Palin took a massive hit to her reputation because of a map with crosshairs, basically making her a scapegoat by D's that find her offensive and R's that realized the party couldn't control her.

Cynics like me were just waiting for things to get back to normal.  And it looks like it happened.

Wisconsin is considering a bill that has lots of people protesting.  I'm not going to mention the bill because it is immaterial to my point here.  I want to point out people are invoking Hitler and calling for blood and other stuff.  And this is coming from the left, the very people who were criticizing the right in the aftermath of the Arizona Massacre.

And look at this.  Here's Mike Capuano, a D congressman from Massachusetts.  “I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary,” Rep. Mike Capuano (D-Ma.) told a crowd in Boston on Tuesday rallying in solidarity for Wisconsin union members.

The news was all over the right for violent rhetoric.  This is being buried by the news.

Fairness?  What's that?

Shocker, there. I *still* haven't heard any mention of the ads with crosshairs that were put out by the left, before Arizona.
