Okay, I'm sick of this.

I was sick of this years ago when I last went to ACen, I'm sick when I hear about it now, and I'm sick when it damn near happens under my nose.

I'm not going to go into much detail, the woman at the center of this has been through more than enough.

She's was cosplaying.  As we're talking comic books, the outfit was skintight, you could see her nipples defined through her top, classic hourglass figure, she looked really sexy and really great.  I got a picture and thanked her, and she went on her way.

Not two minutes later, I see her storming down the ailse.  Behind her is a friend.  He's on the phone with convention security.

It seems she was heading for the bathroom and just before she got to the door, some guy grabbed her breasts.

Security caught the guy.  He was outside the convention area, trying to play cool, hoping no one would notice.  He's lucky security caught him.  Several people were looking for him who weren't official security and ready to make Area 2 in Chicago look like a vacation cruise.

It doesn't matter if a woman is dressed sexy.  It doesn't matter if she's dressed as a comic book character who is easy to bed.  It doesn't matter if she's dressed like a $5,000 a night hooker.  It doesn't matter if she's wearing a thong in public.

PEOPLE THAT DRESS SEXY ARE NOT GIVING UP THEIR RIGHT TO BE LEFT ALONE!  YOU AREN'T BEING INVITED TO TOUCH THEM OR DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN LOOK AT THEM, MAYBE SNAP A PICTURE!  YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS INVADING THEM!  PERIOD!  FINITO!  THE FUCKING END!

And as long as I'm on the subject, just what kind of reaction did you think you'd get by grabbing her breasts?!?  Did you think she'd thank you for the thrill?!?  She'd want to get to know you better?!?  Maybe invite you to bed?!?  DId you honestly think she'd react in any way other than buzzing the fuzz on your stupid ass?!?  Am I the only one who was taught to act like a gentleman and treat women with respect?!?

In one of my favorite Stress Puppy strips, Raff makes some pronouncement and Holly says it was really depressive, even for him.

RAFF:  It's not depression, it's misanthropy.
HOLLY:  What's the difference?
RAFF:  A depressive wishes he was dead.  A misanthrope wishes everybody else was dead.

I'm feeling very misanthropic today.

This one should come down to common sense (which seems to be less common these days). In a strip club, a woman in a sexy outfit takes off her clothes and and dances for you in a way the she hopes will turn you on. But even in THAT environment you are not allowed to put any part of your body on hers without her permission. EVER.

From appearances, I'm certain that some con goers only leave the basement to go to these conventions, and when they see a female of the species the only thing going through their mind is , "boobies"... but they should still understand basic social etiquette.

I just looked into the "Extras" section on the C2E2 app. They actually cover this under "What if I'm harassed?" Basically it says that if you find yourself stalked, intimidated, or touched in any way, go immediately to the show office. The offender will be removed without refund, and could be brought up on charges. "If it's illegal outside the convention center, it's illegal inside the convention center."

With this having been in the app, at least ReedPop is addressing this possibility and appear to be taking what actions they can to keep this kind of thing to an absolute minimum.
