Liefeld, who created Shatterstar, reacted the way you expect him to: he lost his shit. He said it was a cheap exploitation stunt (Duh! Is there ANYTHING in comics that isn't a cheap exploitation stunt anymore?) and he would love to return to Marvel so he could "correct" (read that: retcon) Shatterstar's character. He also compared Shatterstar to Maximus in Gladiator instead of the Spartans -- he's a manly man, he's all man, and he's not gay. David is now hanging out on Liefeld's message board, and is continuing to egg him on.
Now...this is the part that makes me think I'm losing my touch.
My buddy asks, "So, Peter, are you going to get a copy of X-Factor and have Liefeld sign it since it is his character?"
To which I thought, "Shit! Why didn't I think of that?!?"
So, if you see me at the Chicago Con with a video camera and a smile of pure evil, you know what's coming.
