Now, Liefeld is apparently getting ready to completely revive Extreme Comics.
Liefeld has a very interesting history. People who meet him in person say he's a swell guy and very nice (certainly his refusal to pound Yellow Hat Guy into a pulp two years ago supports that theory). But when it comes to presenting himself in media, whether online or in interviews, he comes off as colossally self-impressed. And there are LOTS of rumors floating around from people during the days of the Image Explosion who say they will never forgive Liefeld. These people don't seem to include the current Image crew. Liefeld was swiping talent away from them, leading to him either jumping from Image or being pushed, depending on who you believe. I do not know how much clout he still wields, given Image ain't what it used to be and he is partnering with the founder of Platinum (who also founded Malibu Comics, read into that what you will) and one of the guys from Film Roman, but there are still people afraid to talk about the guy.
All I know is we have gone from 80's nostaglia to 90's nostalgia. And people say there's nothing original anymore.
