I, watching traffic, said, What?
"Jenna Jameson is going to be at the Hollywood theater."
Why? She doesn't have a movie coming out. That makes no sense. Besides, this is DuPage County. They're kind of socially uptight about sex.
"I'm telling you, I saw her name."
I owe him an apology. Sort of. This is going to be splitting hairs.
Good Catholic girl (her description, not mine, she referred to herself as such in an interview) Jenna Jameson was indeed going to appear at the Hollywood Theaters owned by Ted E.C. Bulthaup III. There are two of them, and each was going to show Zombie Strippers and have Jameson do a meet and greet with the fans, pose for pictures, sign autographs, and autograph 200 copies of her book How To Make Love Like A Porn Star. Hollywood Theaters sold a bunch of advance tickets and paid for transportation for Jameson, her agent, and her personal assistant to fly out there.
Just before the event, Jameson's agent sent a message to Bulthaup that she had a medical emergency and wouldn't be able to make it. However, this is the Age Of The Internet, where nothing is secret. Jameson instead attended Perez Hilton's Blue Ball, a birthday bash in his honor. Pictures of her were put up on Hilton's own blog. The secret word for today is, "Busted." When Bulthaup bitched, Jameson's agent supposedly asked, "Well, just because she signed a contract, does it mean she has to appear, if she changes her mind?" Uh, yeah, that's the whole point of a contract.
Bulthaup filed a lawsuit seeking $50K in damages, and Jameson didn't bother to hire an attorney to represent her or even do anything, there was no one representing her at the hearing Wednesday. DuPage County Circuit Court Judge Patrick J. Leston entered an order of default against Jameson. He is waiting "until we show documentation and damages," said Bulthaup. The judgment could come later this month.
