1) My opinion of the new Spider-Man, who is half black and half Hispanic -- on a personal level, I'm not a Spider-Man fan to begin with, so there's no opinion from me when it comes to tradition or whatever the hell everyone is bleating about. They could replace him with hermaphrodite whose mother was a yeti and whose father was a space alien and I wouldn't care. As far as the stories, as long as this Spider-Man isn't some whiny survivor's guilt dipshit who would rather be a photographer instead of a scientist at the Baxter Building and makes deals with the devil, I'm all for it.
2) Once again, comics were a metaphor for the Jewish experience in America, specifically how no one had any compassion for minorities unless they could do something that benefited the WASP establishment. The assholes complaining to Faux News and such about the new Spider-Man are illustrating my point better than I ever could. You're the same idiots that think Jesus was a white dude who couldn't possibly have been Jewish. ES&D, all of you.
