Adventures In Local Government

This weekend, the Illinois General Assembly held a special session.

The House passed a measure to drop pension plans for any new state reps to help get the pension program in this state back under control.

The Senate had already gone home that day, so the bill died.

But look at the bright side -- they passed, and Gov Quinn signed into a law, a tax on strip clubs, the money of which is to fund sexual abuse conselling.

All in a day's work.
