This Is The City, It's A City Of Crime

Those of you who remember my Wizard World write-up remember my mention of the rampant thieving going on there, including a $250 signed hardcover book and a generator.

Anyone who thought this was an isolated incident?  Listen up.

Wizard World's Mid-Ohio con just happened this weekend.  Reports came in of a CGC'ed copy of The Brave And The Bold #28 (with the Justice League fighting Starro The Conqueror on the cover), valued at $10,000, stolen.  Also a CGC'ed Fantastic Four #5 stolen.  Both of these happened within minutes of each other.

Reports are flooding in from other dealers saying that people were not only boosting their stuff (they needed at least two people at the booth just to watch out), but the thieves were simply walking out the front door, no one stopping them even as they screamed they'd been robbed.  (But just try to take a picture of Patrick Stewart while waiting in line for a signature and security comes out of the woodwork for you.)

Wizard?  If you just can't be bothered, end the shows this year.  No dealer worth his salt is going to go through the trouble of coming if they are looking at getting robbed.  Quit stringing people trying to get by along.
