I Used To Think Variant Covers Were Interesting

I was never one of those people who had to get every variant cover to complete a collection.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them if they were convenient.  But since there is obvious demand for them, that means a tougher search and a higher price (the first three issues of Power Girl had variants that I snapped up.  4 and 5 have variants, but retailers apparently had to order X number of regular issues to get them, so the variants are two to three times the regular cover price and harder to find.  No thank you).  It's something I was going to goof on when the Stress Puppy graphic novel came out but just never got around to.

Why do I bring this up?

Wolverine:  Weapon X #1 has 100 different variant covers.
