They Probably Stock It With Funyuns, Too

BlCZRIqCcAEFFsqVending machines sell everything.  Candy.  Soda.  There's a pizza vending machine.  Vending machines for MP3 players and video games.  In Japan, there are vending machines that sell used women's panties.

Well, Colorado just got the first marijuana vending machine.

Yes, you read that right.

It's called a Zazz machine, and it was produced by American Green.  The first buyer is the Herbal Elements dispensary in Eagle-Vail.  Said Greg Honan, the owner of Herbal Elements, "We're looking forward to using the Zazz machine to easily track all this inventory.  We're gonna eliminate the middle man.  It'll go straight from the bud tender to into our machine.  There's no room for theft by patients, employees (...rippers....  -- G).  There's no way to lost track of the Inventory."  Ah the blind faith people put in technology.  They'll learn.

You are probably wondering how they are going to keep these things selling to legally allowed people (remember cigarette vending machines?).  Well, according to Stephen Shearin, who owns American Green, the machine requires users to swipe their driver's licenses to verify their names and identities.  The machine then goes to its cameras.  "They would swipe their driver's license, at which point, multiple cameras would allow us to use some advanced biometrics to make absolutely certain that the person who swiped the card is the owner of the card."  Gotta admit -- it sounds like it would work a lot better than the carding at liquor stores.

The machine is going outside the Montana's Smokehouse barbecue restaurant in Avon, for those of you planning your summer vacation.
