The rest of you are going to find this fuckin' hilarious.
Six years ago, Summit Entertainment acquired the rights to Highlander and has been working on a reboot. Ryan Reynolds was originally approached to play the titular Quentin McLeod (just making sure I'm getting maximum lulz out of this), but he dropped out of the project last year. For those of you thinking how weird it is for Reynolds to play a Scot, I will simply point out that the character of Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez is Egyptian and when Sean Connery played his didn't even bother to hide his Scottish accent....
Ah, yes. Ramirez. The point of this. Nothing is confirmed, but there are heavy duty rumors circulating about who Summit is trying to recruit to play the role.
Sorry, this is just too funny. I can't stop giggling at this.
Summit wants Tom "Box Office Poison" Cruise to play Ramirez.
Suddenly, all that shit about Ziest doesn't look so bad.
I'll catch you guys in a bit. The person this is going to freak out won't be reading this right away, so I have time to get to the nearest bell tower and intercept him.
